Entry requirements
Grade 12 and/or equivalent of at least five years of insurance related work experience.
Introduction
The Occupational Certificate: Insurance Agent (Insurance Underwriter) has been designed to prepare Candidates for the evaluation and interpretation of information that protects the interests of stakeholders. This is achieved through the transfer of specialist technical knowledge for the purposes of determining, pricing, managing and transferring risk. In this manner, technical expertise within the insurance industry will be held to a high standard of competence and efficacy. .
Overview of the High-Level Programme
Module 2: Insurance risk management for underwriters
Module 3: Application of legal and insurance principles
Module 4: Rating and pricing of insurance risks and products
Workplace Evidence
Prescribed workplace evidence must be collected and endorsed by the student’s mentor/supervisor in the workplace and submitted to NVO for final assessment.
External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA)
NVO will issue a Statement of Results (SoR) once the programme and all assessments have been completed successfully. EISA (External Integrated Summative Assessment) exam to be booked directly with Inseta once NVO programme is completed. Exam fee payable directly to Inseta (exam fees to be found on Inseta website). The Novia One mock examination will be venue based to simulate exam conditions as applied by the EISA exam. Students will receive a certificate of competence against the qualification directly from QCTO after successfully passing the EISA.
