Matric with 2 years work experience in business operations with access to the buying division in the workplace.

Introduction
The purpose of this qualification is to equip a learner with the knowledge, skills and competencies to perform duties as a Retail Buyer, including sourcing, buying and allocating stock for wholesale and retail outlets. Classroom debate, case studies and student presentations all contribute to lively and enriching course content.
EISA (External Integrated Summative Assessment) exam to be booked directly with FAIS one NVO programme is completed.
Exam fee payable directly to FAIS (exam fees to be found on FAIS website). The Novia One mock examination will be venue based to simulate exam conditions as applied by the EISA exam.
Overview of the High-Level Programme
Module 1: Concepts and principles for managing supplier relationships and the performance of merchandise
Module 2: Concepts and principles for identifying and sourcing products, and selecting suppliers.
Module 3: Concepts and principles of buying merchandise
Module 4: Concepts and principles for allocating stock to stores
Work Experience
Prescribed work experience must be endorsed by the student’s mentor/supervisor and submitted to NVO for final assessment.
Outcomes
1. Manage supplier relationships and the performance of stock.
2. Source products through the identification and selection of suppliers.
3. Buy merchandise and allocate stock to stores effectively.
