Introduction
The Long-Term Insurance Advisor qualification equips students with the skills they need to apply technical knowledge and a sound understanding of the insurance business, the different asset classes to give financial advice and the structure of long-term insurance portfolios. Graduates will also develop the ability to identify a potential wealth preservation solution for an entity, while providing advice, which effectively places the client in a position to make informed decisions.
EISA (External Integrated Summative Assessment) exam to be booked directly with Inseta once NVO programme is completed.
Exam fee payable directly to Inseta (exam fees to be found on Inseta website). The Novia One mock examination will be venue based to simulate exam conditions as applied by the EISA exam.

Work Experience
Prescribed work experience must be endorsed by the student’s mentor/supervisor and submitted to NVO for final assessment.
Outcomes
1. Apply basic economic principles to the financial services sector.
2. Demonstrate an-depth awareness of the consequences of a large claim to clients.
3. Gain insights into the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, South African money laundering legislation, the Promotion of Access to Information Act and the Electronic Transactions and Communications Act.
4. Analyse the different products available in the long-term Insurance industry and their benefits.
5. Understand the roles of actuaries, underwriters, claims assessors and reinsurers in the long-term insurance sector.
6. Identify and explain trends and issues in the long-term insurance market, which present abnormal risks.
7. Acquire in-depth knowledge of the business of insurance.
